Hello wat is your name?

We’ve been thinking of the name for a long time, there’re just too many out there when we google for the name.
We want a name that speaks of his character cos we believe God has a destiny for him. So how to choose?
Firstly, a name both of us would like. One night as we were driving home from town, this name just came to my mind, “How about Sean?” “Ya, yes, I like that name, Sean”. Well finally a name that both of us like. It sounds like “Jon” right?
Anyway, I’m still not convinced, as I need a confirmation from God. In Jeremiah 1:4, HE said HE already know us even before we were form. So, HE gotta have a name for our baby. Well, we prayed about it, and not after about 1 month or so, I’ve got the confirmation.
God can speak thru many ways, and as I was reading and listening to HIS word through a preacher. He was talking about John the beloved disciple of Christ. Sean is a Irish name for John! But what is it about John that speaks of our baby’s character?
In the 4 Gospel books, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Only in the book of John where John is refer as “the disciple whom Jesus loved”. At first I was like how come this John so ‘thick’ skin one, say Jesus loves him, as if Jesus don’t love the rest of the 11? Well, Peter who boasted about his love to Jesus became the one who denied Jesus for 3 times. But John who boasted about Jesus’s love for him, John was the only 12 that at the foot of the cross. John never left Jesus, John not ashame, did not denied Jesus, simply because he truly know the depth of Christ love for him.
When I read that, God’s Spirit just spoke inside of me, that He wants our baby to grow up knowing how much he is loved by Jesus. We want Sean to know that he’s the beloved one, that he can face any challenge in life with confident that his papa, mommy and Heavenly Daddy and Jesus will not leave him nor forsake him, because Sean is deeply loved. Well, all of us as HIS children ought to have that in our mind all the time, that Jesus has redeemed us and now we are no longer slave but sons and daughters to His kingdom. But only if we have that revelation, that knowledge of HIS first love for us, we will not be able to live victoriously in life. We’ll be hinding, and just try to boast of our love for Him, when we know at times, we just fail to do so.
“Hello wat’s your name?”, “My name is Sean - the beloved, the favored one”
Sean also speaks of “God is gracious”, and yes, because of HIS amazing amazing Grace we can now live our life Free and Victoriously!! Amen.
